Romeo, Hartman Spark Offense as Roadrunner Men's Soccer Halts CC Morris

Against a traditionally tough opponent, Roadrunner Men's Soccer claimed a more-than-welcomed 5-1 bounce-back triumph over host County College of Morris Saturday.

Earlier in the week, the Runners fell hard on the road vs. a talented Division 2 opponent in Mercer County College. But no worries as the Runners, used a second half surge to get back on the winning track.

Christian Romeo booted in what proved to be the game winner, setting off an explosion of three more goals that followed to notch the victory. Romeo finished with a goal and 2 assists while teammate Jake Hartman netted 2 goals.

Justin Lewis also chipped in offensively with a goal and 2 assists while teammate Gavin Riemer added two assists. Goalkeeper Diego Torres registered the win with one save in the nets.

"CC Morris battled hard and played organized defensively," said RCSJ head coach Craig Wicken, whose team improved to 2-1-1 overall. "We had a hard time finding the back of the net early. Fortunately we were able to pull away in the second half."

Next up for the Runners will be a home match vs. Harrisburg Area Community College in a 4 pm start on Tuesday, Sept. 9th.
