While men's soccer coach George Hobbins lost some deeply talented players, including all-stars Sinan Tuzcu and Jake Fazi from a successful Spring 2021 campaign, the Roadrunners nonetheless will field a team loaded with talented freshman players.
The Runners enter the Fall 2021 season, which opens Sept. 2 on the road, with plenty of optimism following a 7-4 Spring 2021 season in which they qualified for the Region XIX playoffs.
"We're young and inexperienced overall, but we are a pretty deep team," said Hobbins, who is beginning his eighth season. "Our midfield is very strong and our back line is talented. It's just a matter of finding a couple players who can put the ball in the net."
Also expected to be a team strength will be the play of goalkeeper Gunner Hoffman (Williamstown), who performed well during the playoff run last spring.
Hobbins' team opens the season on the road Thursday, Sept. 2 in a 3:30 pm start at Mercer County Community College.
