The Roadrunner men's soccer team ran into one of their toughest opponents of the season, dropping a heart-breaking 1-0 decision to host Ocean County College Tuesday afternoon in GSAC and Region XIX action.
A late second half goal by Cory Branz, assisted by Justin Alves, proved to be the game's lone offense as the Vikings (5-1, 5-0) grabbed the win.
The Runners fell to 5-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the conference.
Sophomore Josh Strickon (Washington Twp.) had five shots on goal in a losing effort. Roadrunner freshmen Connor Rink (Haddon Heights) and James Bartolotto (Gloucester Catholic) split goalkeeping duties, turning back 6 of 7 shots -- but it wasn't enough to prevent the tough loss.
Next up for the Runners will be RCSJ Cumberland in the Rowan College Derby Thursday night at Rowan University in a 6 pm start.
