The No. 12 seed Roadrunner Women's Basketball team were toppled by No. 5 Fulton-Montgomery CC, 75-50, in opening round action at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Brownwood, TX Thursday. RCSJ guard Alaina LaMonica had 12 points in a losing cause.
Next up for the Runners will be a consolation round game vs. Bronx CC in an 11 am tip off Thursday.
Tournament Preview
The Roadrunner Women's Basketball team begins play Wednesday as the #12 seed in the 2026 NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament when they meet #5 seed Fulton Montgomery CC at the Brownwood Coliseum in Brownwood, TX.
Coach Rich Cooper's team, the Region 19 champions, enters the tournament with a 21-6 overall record. Center Shannon Pierman emerged as the tournament MVP. Fulton Montgomery CC checks in with a 22-3 overall record.
Start time for the Roadrunners' first-round contest is 3:00 pm EST.
