Sophomore guard Naiyana Sabb pumped in 19 points while sophomore guard McKenna Dowd nailed two clutch three-point shots in the final two minutes to lead RCGC;s women's team to a 71-64 triumph over host Northampton County in the final regular season game of the season for both teams on Thursday night.
Sabb, a former Gloucester Catholic standout, directed a solid offensive attack that helped the Runners to a 40-30 halftime lead. Dowd, who played at Williamstown High, nailed two clutch three-point attempts in the final two mintes of play to seal the outcome.
With the win, the Roadrunners finished the regular season with a 13-12 overall record, including 10-8 in Region XIX competition. The team will await their next opponent until after the seeding for the post-season tournament.
