First baseman Nick Slogik blasted a pair of home runs and knocked in 6 runs, leading the Roadrunner Baseball team to a 12-1 triumph over visiting Salem Community College in the first of a three-game series on Friday.

Catcher Jayden Rosado collected 2 RBIs and 2 hits while Alex Apicella added 2 doubles and an RBI to contribute offensively.

Winning pitcher Bryson Kirby went the distance, scattering 8 hits and striking out 10 in 7 innings to raise his record to 3-2 overall.

The No. 3 nationally ranked Runners improved to 26-9 overall and 22-5 in the conference. They will visit the Mighty Oaks Saturday in a doubleheader to conclude the three-game series. The Game 1 starting time is now set for 11 am.
