If you take a look at their overall record this spring and through the postseason to date, you'll see that the Roadrunner Women's Tennis team has emerged as a regional and possible national power under Head Coach Mary Jewett, who is completing her third season.
The Runners face their toughest test of the season as they begin opening round matches in the NJCAA Women's Tennis National Championships this weekend, May 2-4, at Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, SC.
"We have a more experienced and talented team, so hopefully we will be competitive," said Jewett. "The teams are very tough at Nationals, so we will have our work cut out for us."
So far, the Runners have competed well in the most recent spring season. The squad finished with an impressive 11-1 dual meet record while winning the Garden State Athletic Conference championship.
In the 2026 Region 19 team race at Mercer County Park, the Runners finished with 23 points to outlast runner-up Mercer CC, which picked up 17 points. Rounding out the top five were Ocean County College, Camden County College and Brookdale, CC.
In individual competition, RCSJ emerged with six players gaining All-Region honors from six overall matches. They included the first doubles team of Emily Hamilton and Jenna Georgette, second singles Allyson Green, third singles Georgette, fourth singles Annabelle Williams, fifth singles Allison Barker, and sixth singles Rachael Summers.
Roadrunner champions were Hamilton and Georgette at first doubles as well as singles' standouts Georgette, Williams, Barker and Summers. Greene placed second overall at No. 2 singles.
"We know how to handle tough situations when we face these on the court," said returning All-American Allison Barker. "Nationals will be our biggest challenge because we're up against the best in the country."
