The new era in Roadrunner Softball is off to a solid start as Head Coach Morgan Tripodi begins the process of introducing herself and her program to the next generation of RCSJ student athletes.

Tripodi, a former Woodbury High standout player who has several years of experience coaching around the region, was appointed earlier this month as the second head coach in program history, taking over for legendary former Coach Steve DePasquale, who retired this past spring.

Tripodi notes that she has 9 returning players who were members of the NJCAA Region 19 championship team in Spring 2026. She is excited to formally meet her veteran players during a team get-together early this week.

"I've spoken with a few of the players already, and I am beyond excited to meet everyone in person," said Tripodi. "This current group of players gives us an amazing foundation and will help us kick off another successful season."

Following her playing career, Morgan has picked up coaching experience the past 6 years in various roles.

She entered the coaching ranks at Eastern University, where she served as an Assistant under Head Coach Terri Adams for two seasons. Morgan also serves as the New Jersey Mystics 18 and under Gold head Softball Coach and recruiting coordinator.

And you can bet she is already recruiting talented players from around the region to expand her RCSJ roster.

"We've had some visits from a few really good players, so the word is spreading about our program," she said.

Tripodi said there will also be a team interest meeting date announced in early September to see if more potential student athletes are interested in joining the team.

The new head coach and Roadrunner administration will also announce the hiring of two assistant coaches in the coming month.
