No. 3 nationally ranked Roadrunner Softball split a doubleheader vs. Region 19 and GSAC rival Brookdale CC Saturday on the road. The Jersey Blues wion the opener, 8-2, while the Runners rebounded in Game 2 with a 13-3 triumph.
Freshman Jill Logeren paced the Roadrunner offense throughout the day with two hits in Game 1 and two hits and two runs scored in Game 2. Sophomore All-American Sienna Walterson collected three hits and three runs scored in Game 2.
"This was a real battle all day between two of the best teams in our region and conference," said Coach Steve DePasquale. "The atmosphere and the intensity of the games were amazing."
The Runners ran their record to 14-4 overall and 9-1 in the GSAC. They will host Middlesex College at home in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 7th. Game 1 first pitch is set for 3:30 pm.
The Jersey Blues now own a 17-9 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
