Roadrunner Men's and Women's Cross Country Open Season at Philadelphia Cross Country Classic

Roadrunner Men's and Women's Cross Country Open Season at Philadelphia Cross Country Classic

The men's and women's cross country teams opened up their 2025 campaign with one of the most challenging courses they will face this year. The teams traveled to the historic Belmont Plateau for the Philadelphia Cross Country Classic, which featured mostly NCAA Division II and III schools. The teams fared very well considering the competition and that this was the first collegiate competition for most of the young team. Both teams were short staffed this week and were using this race as a tune up for the season. In the men's race, veteran Sean Gallo powered through the hills to lead the way in the race, and ended up being the top placed for both squads in 34th place. Meanwhile, newcomer Woodstown HS standout, Kayla Ayars led the way for the last Roadrunners with a 36th place showing in her first race in blue & yellow.

Next up for both teams is the Osprey Open at Stockton University.
