Captain Nick Iuliucci Helps Roadrunner Men's Golf Capture Third Straight Region 19 Championship at Ash Brook GC!

It's officially a three-peat for the Roadrunner Men's Golf Team, who captured their third straight NJCAA Region 19 championship at Ash Brook Golf Club on Tuesday!

Sophomore captain Nick Iuliucci emerged as medalist during the two-day tournament, finishing with a meet low of 178 in two rounds on the Ash Brook course.

That effort helped the Runners finish with a team score of 662, good enough to overcome runner-up County College of Morris's 678 score.

The triumph marked the third straight Region crown for the program under Davidson to go with the recent third straight GSAC title captured by the club.

"A lot of hard work went into this by all the players and coaches -- and this has been a tremendous season," said Davidson.

Other top performers for Coach Guy Davidson's team were: Julian Boyer, who shot a solid 169 over two rounds, along with teammates Andrew Michalski, Connor Eberly and Colon Pape.

But it all came back on the shoulders of Iuliucci, who sparked the team triumph with scores of 78 and 80 over the two days.

"Nick has been remarkably consistent, and that made the difference today," said Davidson. "He works very hard and has shown leadership all season long."

Women's Results

The Women's team, meanwhile, finished as the top overall finisher in the tournament and will represent Region 19 in the upcoming NJCAA Division III Championships at Chautauqua GC in New York.

Sophomore Lanie Guzman carded 235 over two days while teammate Miya Villari was not far behind at 237. The runners rounded out the scoring with solid efforts from Sammi Sutter, Neveah Miller and Ashley Ward.

The women's team battled tough, rainy conditions toward the conclusion of the tournament but held steady throughout.

"The ladies hung in there and turned in a great tournament," said Davidson. "The coaches are so proud that they will represent our Region at the National Tournament."

Next up for the squad will be the NJCAA Division III National Championship Meet at Chautauqua Golf Club in New York, June 4-7.
